Jug, BRUNO GAMBONE (1936-2021)

Jug, glazed earthenware by Bruno Gambone, 1950-60s, Italy.

This glazed earthenware vase by Bruno Gambone was designed and manufactured in the same Florentine studio that was established by his famous ceramicist father, Guido. Produced in the 1960s, this beautiful and slender vase and is light brown in colour and has a slightly textured surface in places due to its composition. Its elongated bottle-neck shape is minimalist in style.

Signed on the underside ‘Gambone/Italy’, this is a wonderful example from one of Italy’s most creative mid-century artists.
