The story behind

When I was a student in Stockholm in the 90s, I spent nearly every weekend wandering through auction viewings. I couldn’t help myself—I was completely captivated by the design and craftsmanship of Swedish masters from the past three centuries.

I fell in love with the restrained, airy elegance of Rococo chairs; the clean lines and quiet purity of Gustavian settees; the timeless poise of Swedish Grace sideboards, perfectly balancing classical proportion with modern simplicity. Then there were the sculptural, functional forms of Swedish Modern, and of course, the extraordinary world of Scandinavian ceramics.

Thirty years later, I still see these pieces as every bit as beautiful and relevant. Even at their most sophisticated, they were created to be lived with—to be touched, used, and enjoyed. Never to decorate from a distance or intimidate.

Living with beauty—this, I think, has always been the lesson they taught me. And it’s still the heart of everything I do.
