Art Nouveau gilt bronze candlestick by George de Feure, 1890-1919, France Extremely rare gilt bronze candlestick with openwork vegetal body and surmounted by three sconces with flower petal cups. Around 1900.

Georges de Feure (1868-1928), worked in the style of Symbolism and Art Nouveau. He studied fine arts in Amsterdam in the 1880s before moving to Paris. De Feure will present his works of art at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900, and will be named Chevalier of the Legion of Honor for his works.

De Feure designed around twenty floor lamps and candlesticks in the shape of plants. This model is never signed. He was represented in several works on Art Nouveau. In good condition, see photos. Not cleaned (green wax on one of the bulbs).
